Buffalo Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I became aware of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. when I attended Howard University. Unfortunately, I couldn’t pledge due to jeopardizing my full academic scholarship. But God...
Part of my recruitment offer to work with Hewlett-Packard Company included them finding me someone to live with. I was paired with a single mother that was active with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority! I was finally able to pledge with the San Jose Alumnae Chapter Fall 1989.
In 2017 I became active with the Buffalo Alumnae Chapter. I created a new chapter logo and redesigned the website. I am also leading a couple committees.
In January 2014, I attended the Straight Talk business event sponsored by SBA & SCORE. I was very impressed by the speakers and the entrepreneurial atmosphere. I felt God urging me to find out more about how I could get involved. Shortly after becoming a volunteer, I was asked to be a workshop presenter. I felt my life purpose aligning with the mission of SCORE "to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education."
I make time to volunteer while still working my full-time job.
Being obedient to God always opens so many doors. Within a year I was asked to become the Chapter Chair for Buffalo Niagara SCORE.
